The Rafflecopter indicated that you would like to hear my favorite sewing story…
Well, I was just a beginning sewist. The pattern I had purchased for my toddler was a dress with pantaloons (diaper cover), the fabric a plaid seersucker. One day I made the pantaloons, but never got around to the dress. Took the elastic out of the legs, and those became my daughter’s favorite shorts. They were a little large when she was first out of diapers, but as she grew, they fit much better. When she was about 9 y.o. the seersucker was holding up well, but the shorts were way to small. So we pulled out the unused dress fabric and made her a second pair, just a little extra large for growing room. By high school, they still fit, but we’re just a bit too short for public decency, so they became p.j.’s. One weekend, my just before my daughter left for college, my brother and his family, came for a visit. The next morning, my daughter was wearing those shorts at breakfast, and both my brother and his wife freaked out that she was wearing the same shorts since birth LOL

I love the Fringe Clutch pattern. I love making bags and purses and accessories. I’ve been sewing since I was 8 yrs old …my aunt taught me how to sew. I started out making clothes for myself such as shirts and pedal pushers. I went to school for fashion design/merchandising and did a few fashion shows at school. After I graduated college I stopped sewing for almost 20 yrs. I recently started sewing bags and accessories and found I love it …I use my pattern drafting skills to design my own patterns as well. Now I’m teaching my daughters to sew and they’re having fun making doll clothes and such.
