Even though I have been waiting for this class, I was a little scared about it: would this be for a skill level that I have not accomplished?
It must be the name: Couture Finishing Techniques.
I kept thinking that it will be too much for me. But I decided to give it a shot.
Big was my surprise when I realized the instructor, Alison Smith, is the author of two of my favorite sewing books:
The reason I love, and strongly recommend her books, is because of the clarity of her explanations; I have already learned so much from them that I was now ready to enjoy my Craftsy Class. But now the question was: Will I learn anything that I have not seen on her books before?
I remember taking Sewing With Knits: 5 Wardrobe Essentials a few months ago.
At the moment I have the same feeling: What if this is too much for me? After that lesson, I felt like I was ready to try sewing with knits and rock it!
It gave me the confidence to try something new, something that I thought it was not for me:
Craftsy Class Review: Couture Finishing Techniques
The Couture Finishing Techniques are not more difficult, they just require more time
But, who wouldn’t like to have these finishes on a wardrobe?
Alison is the second type.

Her lessons were clear, easy to follow, and inspiring
Her simple but so practical instructions will make you to be ready to go and try these new learned techniques immediately.
There were also very inspiring; I have never thought about the scalloped hems on the way she made them or the circular buttonhole, who knew?
