Crispy Cauliflower and Potato Gratin with Creamy Turmeric Sauce
This Crispy Cauliflower and Potato gratin is a great addition to your kitchen.
It is crispy by saute the potatoes and the cauliflower on olive oil and garlic; plus it has the creamy consistency of a tasty turmeric sauce.
THE RECIPE
This in one of my favorite recipes and it is a very easy one to make.
Servings: 4
Ingredients:
3 Medium size russet potatoes
1/2 Cauliflower head
3 small shallots
1 1/2 cup of cheese
1 cup of milk
1/2 tsp. turmeric
2 garlic cloves
salt and pepper to taste
Olive oil
Preparation:
The Gratin
Slice the potatoes and the shallots thinly
Cut the cauliflower in small florets.
Then, place the potatoes, the shallots and the cauliflowers onto a saucepan with olive oil and salt on a medium heat
Cook for about 5 minutes, tossing as need it.
Then, prince the two cloves of garlic and add them to the saucepan
Stir and cook for another 5 minutes.
Set aside.
The Turmeric Sauce:
Pour the milk into a saucepan and put it on the stove at medium heat
Add the turmeric, salt and pepper and mix them together.
Let it sit.
Bring a 9” x 13” dish plate and place 1/3 of the gratin mixture
Grate some cheddar cheese on top of them
Then, make a second layer of the grating and a second layer of cheddar cheese.
Finally, place the last 1/3 of the gratin mixture and add the turmeric sauce on top.
Cover it with tin foil and place it in the oven for 25 minutes.
After that, remove the tin foil and let it cook for another 5 minutes.
