How to make a belt for kids

April 30, 2014 by Daniela Leave a Comment

FREE tutorials, online, free sewing patterns online, free belt tutorial, how to make a belt online

Hi there,I have created this tutorial out of the need of a new, easy to use belt for my little Owen.

Funny story:  One day we needed to go shopping, but  we could not find his only belt.  We decided to just go out and not care about it.

After an hour his diaper was pulling the pants down.  Owen loves to push the shopping cart, so by extending his arms he was making the pants going even lower.

Suddenly, my husband turns around and see the poor little one with his pants down in the middle of a Walmart aisle.

We could not laugh louder after the thought of his picture posted on one of those “people from walmart” online posts.

The truth is, we can not let him get that again.  That is why I made this belt.  He can now jump, run, stretch and do whatever he wants without his pants going down again.

Here are the pictures of a day in the park:

Materials you need:-2 straps of 2 inches width.  The measurement will depend of the waist measurement of your child.

Measurement:

Waist + 2 inches

-matching thread
-2 inches piece of velcro
-1 1/2 inch elastic ( amount: waist measurement – 2 inches)
-loop turner (optional)
