The Sewing Face Off winner pattern announcement

Spread the love

Hello there,

Thank you for visiting us today.  This is the Sewing Pattern Face Off winner announcement.

If this is your first time in our blog, remember to check our FREE SEWING PATTERNS page.

On that page you will find our collection of free sewing patterns for women, kids and men.

You can also visit our SEWING TUTORIALS and our SEWING REVIEWS.

We also have an ETSY STORE, where you will find unique and modern sewing pattern for women.

Last week, we have decided to make a fun giveaway:  Our readers could decide between two garments from runway shows to be the inspiration for our next PDF pattern at DGpatterns.

The winner would get a $25 Etsy gift card and a pattern of her choice from our Etsy store.

After a week of competition and more than 237 entries, we have chosen the winner garment!

This dress received most of the votes from our readers.

The comments were insightful and gave us a clear picture of what they are looking for on our next pattern:

Here are some of the comments:

”they’re both lovely. I choose Option 2 because you can vary it using the same base pattern far more than you can with Option 1. Apron; mini, midi or maxi dress; maxi dress with a split in the skirt; tunic top.”

”All though both options are lovely for me it has to be #2
It’s young and feminine without being to girly, as a more mature lady
I can also see me being able to wear this.
I would add pockets though ? and I can see potential for changes so that I could have several in different colours, fabrics, altered neckline. So many possibilities.
Be great if #1 got a look in sometime in the future too.”

It is great to know your vision and ideas for this pattern, and we are getting very excited about it, as well.

I have started the process of created this V-neck dress. However, it will take several weeks to get the pattern ready to be launched here is a sneak peek of what we have in mind:

It will be a woven dress for women, featuring the following options:

  • Three neckline options: Deep V neckline, moderate v-neckline and scoop neckline
  • Princess seams
  • Three sleeve lengths: Sleeveless, short and long sleeves
  • Two back bodice options: V neck and scoop neckline
  • Two skirt styles:  pleated and gathered skirts
  • Three skirt length:  Mini, midi and maxi
  • Optional front ruffles and pockets

And that is only for the dress options.  Take a look:

There will also be some top and tunic options included on the PDF pattern.

It is so exciting!!!

Fabulous. I am so happy that option 2 is the winner and I love the different versions that you are planning for it. It’s great to see long sleeves included – I do love very long fitted sleeves. I am very much looking forward to the pattern and trying the various options. Thank you. Happy sewing, indeed.
