Play Mat Tutorial

Hi there,This is the tutorial for an easy Play Mat for babies and toddlers.
I wanted to make something simple, spring-like project for my son; a play mat that we can use in our trips to the park.

It was a lovely project to make, and my son loves it!
To make the color combination I used 4 fat quarter pieces in red, blue, yellow and green; to highlight those colors, I chose to work with Shabby Fabrics Laser Cut Fuse Applique Pieces.

The Laser Cut Fuse Applique sets are great.  They work perfectly in numerous projects.  They are as easy as pealing off the back and place wherever you want.
Here are some of the Applique sets available:

To learn how to finish your projects with laser cut applique pieces, check on this videoTutorial

1 Set of Heart Laser Cut Applique

1 yard of lightweight batting
1/2 yard of cotton print fabric for the biding
Invisible Thread (optional)

Instructions

Place two pieces of 18”x 18” together, right sides facing and sew along.
