Simple Vest Pattern

Thanks for visiting On the Cutting Floor today!

This is the Simple Vest Pattern

If this is your first time in our blog, remember to check our FREE SEWING PATTERNS page.

On that page you will find our collection of free sewing patterns for women, kids and men.

You can also visit our SEWING TUTORIALS and our SEWING REVIEWS.

We also have an ETSY STORE, where you will find unique and modern sewing pattern for women.

THE PATTERN

Since the weather has finally started changing and the days are getting colder, I decided to make a vest for my Owen.

What I love about the design is how easy it will be to make it for little girls, as well.

Some fabrics that I will suggest for this project:

For the main fabric

Materials:

Printed patterns
Matching thread
1/4 yard of contrasting bias tape
Scissors

Printing Instructions:

This printable PDF pattern is assembled BY OVERLAPPING THE PAGES 1 inch.  That will make it easier to assemble and avoid further fitting issues. The pattern comes in letter size paper. To print this pattern, go the PDF document. Select  FILE — PRINT.
This will be the layout of your pattern:It will print 12 pages. Wait until all the pages are printed before taking them from the printer; it will make it easier to assemble. When finished printing, place the pages as the layout below. Then use tape to put them together.

Sometimes, there are problems with the printing process and the patterns come in the wrong size (a little bit smaller). To avoid this, check the 1 inch square inside of the front bodice pattern.

It will help you to see if the patterns are the correct size. The PDF pattern comes in sizes from 3 to 8; 3 being for size 3 years to 8 being for eight years (US Size).

If you have any doubts about the sizes, please refer to the body measurement chart

The colors for each size are:

Size

3:  Black
4:  Red
5:  Green
6:  Blue
7:  Orange
8:  Purple
This pattern comes with a 3/8 inch seam allowance, unless indicated otherwise.

Yardage:

For 45” wide fabric:  1 to 1 1/2 yards of the main fabric and the same amount of lining.

Please help, I’m very confused about the sizing. It says it comes in size 4 to 22 in the text then in the chart it starts at size 1. I’m sooooo confused

Sorry about that. The text has been fixed.
Size 1 is for 1 year, and size 8 it is for 8 years.
