Free Tutorial: Heart bagheart bag

Hello there,

Thanks for visiting On the Cutting Floor today.

This is the Free Tutorial for a Heart Bag.

It is a very cute, simple and easy project to make for your little ones.

I love that it is an idea that can be modified with different shapes and create your own, unique project for girls and boys.

Materials:

1/4 yard of soft padding

1/4 yard of flannel

7” zipper

coordinating thread.

 Printing instructions

The pattern comes in letter and A4 size

This printable PDF pattern is assembled BY OVERLAPPING THE PAGES 1/2 centimeter.  It will make the assembling process easier.

The pattern comes in letter size paper.

To print this pattern, go the PDF document. Select  FILE — PRINT.

Choose the POSTER option on the printing page.
This will be the layout of your pattern:

Plus, add a 32’’ x 4 strap for the bag

Instructions:

Place the padding and the flannel hear shaped pieces together, wrong sides facing.

Sew around the heart, making some fun shapes to keep the padding and the fabric together.

Place the zipper on the top heart piece.

Then, put the zipper on the bottom piece of your heart.  Press flat.

Straps:  Fold the strap in half and press flat with your iron.

Then, open it and  fold the strap again by turning the outside of the strap to the inside (meeting in the middle, as shown in the picture)

Then, fold again and press flat.

Edge stitch the strap 1/8 inch from the edge ALL AROUND

Place the front and back of the bag together, right sides facing, and sew long the hear shape.

Tip:  round areas and corners are easier to manage with a shorter length stitch.
